Poultry Industry Leaders Explore the Added Value of Further Processing at Biannual Business Forum in Belgrade, Serbia
After three years, Cobb Germany and its local representative Iradia held their long-awaited biannual Poultry Business Forum and technical seminar in Belgrade, Serbia. At the first meeting since the start of the pandemic, attendees gathered to discuss the forum’s topic of the added value of further processing. This segment of the poultry industry currently has the highest growth potential in the world.
The business forum was attended by more than 40 poultry industry leaders who used the opportunity to convene and gain insights about important developments in the poultry industry, such as consumer trends, the added value of further processing and technical progress. Among the topics discussed, attendees learned about the social and cultural trends that are shaping consumer behavior from Mrs. Simone Schiller, the managing director of Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft (DLG). Additionally, Jean Carlos Borga, commercial director of Tyson Foods Europe, informed participants on the producer’s approach to the subject, while Adnan Cemalovic from Marel Further Processing introduced the possibilities and technical developments related to further processing. These presentations led to lively discussions over the course of the dinner that followed on the first day of the forum.
The two-day business forum also included a technical seminar in its second day, with poultry producers from across the entire region of the Western Balkans in attendance. Dr. Ron Meijerhof discussed the topic of breeder female management, and Dr. Andre Derkx examined the development of vaccination programs and disease monitoring. In the afternoon session, Felipe Soto presented a fresh perspective on male management, while Dr. Ron Meijerhof shared his insights on incubation processes and the alternative hatching concepts currently available on the market.
To close out the event, James Truscott expressed his satisfaction after another successful meeting and shared the improved genetic developments and Cobb’s future plans with the forum’s participants.
