Focus on quality – Cobb Germany event in Belgrade

Last Wednesday (17 April), together with our regional distributor ‘Iradia’, we hosted the ‘5th Cobb Business Forum’ in Belgrade, Serbia. A total of 60 leading representatives of the poultry industry from the entire Balkan region accepted the invitation to discuss future trends and developments in the industry.

The core topic of this year’s meeting: ‘Quality control and assurance’. A decisive factor for every poultry company. On the one hand for co-operation with the retail trade and on the other hand to gain the trust of consumers. Experts from the field of food certification presented the Dutch system ‘Integrated Chain Supervision’ (IKB) and the food standard ‘IFS Food’ and explained why both systems are important for the sale of products in supermarkets. Our sister company Bördegarten also gave the participants an insight into the traceability system that they have successfully introduced for vegetable production. This means that in the event of spoilt food, the cause can be traced back precisely.

On the following day (18 April), Cobb Germany and ‘Iradia’ hosted another event: the ‘Cobb technical seminar’ moderated by Biljana Tomić. Over 80 experts from Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Greece accepted the invitation. Among other things, they listened to exciting presentations on parent stock management, general poultry diseases and health and the principles of successful breeding.
