Specialists meeting of the poultry industry in Dessau-Roßlau

In mid-June, we opened our doors to the elite of the poultry industry. As part of the joint AFG (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Fachberater für Geflügelwirtschaft e.V.) conference, experts discussed current challenges in poultry farming in Dessau. The AFG is an association of poultry industry consultants from Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Some of our colleagues are among them.

This year, the three-day conference focussed on the production of broilers and poultry meat. The group of experts was welcomed by our Managing Director Leopold Graf von Drechsel. „Wimex is a good example of how large companies can also work sustainably,“ he explained. He was particularly proud of the short distances within the company. On average, hatching eggs produced by us travel less than 100 kilometres, whereas organic hatching eggs often travel many times that distance.

In addition to a tour of one of our parent stock farms, we were able to organise a visit to a nearby chicken broiler house. Another highlight was the MMT veterinary practice in Köthen. In addition to the excursions, we took the opportunity to pass on our extensive knowledge and experience in several presentations. The intensive professional exchange between all participants made the conference a complete success.
